Some of the pictures are a little dark due to not using the flash in the NICU - Level 3 Nursery.
We got the call yesterday morning right after I had gotten to work and settled in - Megan's Water Broke!! We rushed to the hospital and everything happened really fast! I got to be in the OR and Matt watched from the window.
I don't have much time to go into a lot of detail right now; but both girls came out and appeared to be doing great but quickly started having respiratory problems. So we were transported to the Sacred Heart NICU across town. We've been with them almost every minute that we can.
Both girls are doing remarkably well now!!
Alaina was taken off her vent shortly after she arrived at the NICU and is currently only on a CPAP; they are hoping to take that off of her this morning when the doctors make their rounds.
Matisyn the tiny one has been beating her sister left and right. She came out kicking and crying and making a statement that she had arrived. They were getting ready to put her in a bassinet and move her to the step down unit this morning but she spit up quite a bit of her formula and her tummy was a little distended. They put a small tube down to her tummy to drain some of the excess out and thankfully only formula and stomach juices came out; no mucus or anything that would cause any concern.
We feel like when we go back at 8; she will be dressed and ready to hold and feed - by us - for the first time. I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it!!
Please keep the girls in your prayers; along with Megan as she continues to recover from her c-section.
